An ARRIS Touchstone telephony modem equipped with a battery pack can provide uninterrupted voice service including emergency 911 services during a power failure. When electrical power is not available an ARRIS modem will automatically switch to the battery pack(s) for power. When electrical power is restored, the modem will switch back to electrical power and the battery pack(s) will recharge right in the modem. No intervention is required.
ARRIS recommends using only an ARRIS battery pack with an ARRIS modem. The integrated ARRIS battery pack is designed to provide optimum performance and enhanced network capabilities for the ARRIS Touchstone telephony modem. Other battery packs may damage the modem and void the warranty.
Service during a power failure event is dependent on your service provider's network capability. Contact your service provider for information on network capability. Battery backup times are typical and can be influenced by the age of the battery, the charging state, storage conditions and operating temperature as well as factors such as data activity and length of active telephone calls.
